Biomedicum Cell Imaging Cluster (BCIC) provides equipment, expertise and training for advanced cell imaging purposes at Biomedicum Helsinki and the Meilahti Campus.
The cluster includes the imaging units of the Institute of Biomedicine (BLL-CIU) and Haartman Institute (HI-AMU), University of Helsinki, and the Department of Molecular Medicine (KTL-CIU), National Public Health Institute.
BCIC provides several modern laser scanning confocal microscopes and fast wide-field live cell imaging workstations, suited for various types of multi-dimensional imaging purposes, and software for image post-processing. We also provide disk server capacity for data transfer and storage in collaboration with the Biomedicum Bioinformatics Unit (BBU).
In addition, we aim to provide services for more advanced specific applications such as multiphoton confocal microscopy, deconvolution and volume rendering.
Each unit participating in BCIC is responsible for the equipment specified. The use of the equipment requires appropriate user training and authorization. Please contact the personnel for further information.
BCIC is a cooperative venture of the University of Helsinki and the National Public Health Institute.
